Welcome to HPBB 2016 in Toronto

The 9th International Conference on High Pressure Bioscience and Biotechnology (HPBB 2016) will be held in Toronto (Canada) over the dates of 25 to 29 July 2016 at the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto.  This will be the first HPBB conference in Canada.

The conference will provide a stimulating environment for sharing ideas and discussing the latest developments in the use and understanding of pressure in many scientific disciplines.  The presentations will deal with experimental research relevant to applications of high pressure and the theory underlying this work in fields of fundamental and practical interest.  The agenda will include invited lectures as well as oral and poster presentations by the attendees.  There also will be a sightseeing excursion and opportunity to exchange ideas and socialize in informal settings.


Conference Venue and Accommodations

The Conference will be held at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto (144 College Street, Toronto, Ontario M5S 3M2). The Faculty is located in Downtown Toronto at the intersection of College Street and University Avenue, in front of Queen's Park subway station. There are many hotels a walking distance from the conference venue. You may want to make your hotel reservation in advance given that July is a high season in Toronto. Some suggestions are Chelsea Hotel Toronto; Hilton Garden Inn TorontoHoliday Inn Toronto Bloor Yorkville; and Intercontinental Bloor Yorkville.

Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world and is consistently rated as one of the world’s five most-livable cities.  It is an international entertainment, financial, cultural, and educational center.  Within walking distance of the conference venue are several museums, restaurants offering cuisines from around the world, and a broad spectrum of entertainment and sightseeing opportunities.
